Guardsman Duct Sealing in Henderson: What to Know First

Guardsman duct sealing in Henderson typically runs $450 – $1,200 depending on how many leaks we find and where they sit. We’re an independent Guardsman service provider, not a factory-authorized shop, which means we repair what’s actually wrong instead of pushing a system replacement. Most jobs wrap in a single visit.

This page is for Henderson homeowners whose Guardsman air purification or filtration setup isn’t holding pressure, is pulling dust from the attic, or just isn’t delivering the air it should. When you’re ready for a written price before any work starts, call us at (775) 383-5847.

How Guardsman Products Fail – and How We Fix Them

  • Guardsman Air Purifier bypass leaks. The cabinet housing on Guardsman’s whole-home purification units, especially models paired with newer variable-speed systems around Green Valley and Anthem, tends to flex at the seams after a few Henderson summers. That flex opens thin gaps where unconditioned attic air slips past the filter and into your supply side. We seal those seams with water-based duct mastic, not tape, so the joint stays tight through the next thermal cycle.
  • Filter cabinet gasket compression set. Guardsman media cabinets rely on a foam gasket that compresses every time the filter door closes. After two or three years in dry Henderson air, that gasket turns brittle and loses its spring. The result is a whistling noise near the return and dust buildup on the blower motor. We replace the gasket with a closed-cell foam rated for 180°F and re-check the door tension before we call it done.
  • Transition collar separation on the supply plenum. Guardsman units installed by production builders off Horizon Ridge often got a sheet-metal transition collar that was screwed, not sealed. Vibration from the blower works those screws loose over time, and the collar starts pulling away. We see this on roughly a third of the newer Guardsman installs we inspect. The fix is pulling the collar, cleaning both faces, and re-seating it with mastic and a fresh draw band.
  • UV lamp port leakage on older Guardsman air purifiers. Models with a UV lamp pass-through have a rubber grommet that shrinks with age and heat exposure. Once it shrinks, you get a steady pull of air from wherever that port sits, usually a dusty chase or the garage. We measure the port, match the grommet, and seal the lamp assembly with high-temp silicone rated for continuous exposure. This is a five-dollar part causing a hundred dollars of efficiency loss.
  • Return-side flex duct crushing at the Guardsman cabinet inlet. A lot of Henderson homes have flex duct running directly into the Guardsman cabinet inlet, and if the cabinet was mounted tight to a wall or rafter, that flex has a sharp bend. Over time the inner liner collapses, choking airflow and making the system sound like it’s working harder than it is. We may set a rigid elbow at the inlet or re-hang the flex with proper strapping. This restores designed airflow without touching the Guardsman unit itself.

Our Guardsman Duct Sealing Process

Every Guardsman job starts the same way: we map the system before we touch it. Roy Castellanos teaches the crew that a blower pushing air through a system nobody mapped is just moving the problem around.

  1. 1
Call and schedule. You talk to a live person, day or night. We set a window and we hit it. You know the technician’s name before they ring the bell.
  2. 2
Walkthrough and pressure test. The tech walks the full duct run from return to furthest register, looking at every joint, collar, and the Guardsman cabinet itself. We use a digital manometer to measure static pressure, which tells us whether the problem is the ductwork, the filtration unit, or both.
  3. 3
Written diagnosis and dollar price. Before anything gets unbolted, you get a written list of what’s leaking, what we’ll do about it, and what it costs. That price does not move. If the pressure test shows the system is fine, we tell you that and leave. We don’t invent work.
  4. 4
Sealing and parts. We seal accessible joints with water-based duct mastic, not duct tape. Mastic actually cures and stays put through Henderson’s summer-to-winter swings. If a Guardsman-specific part like a gasket or grommet needs replacing, we use OEM where it matters for fit, and quality aftermarket where the OEM part has a known short life. We tell you which is which and why.
  5. 5
Re-test and verify. After sealing, we re-measure static pressure and airflow at the supply registers. We show you the before-and-after numbers. If the numbers didn’t move the way they should, we keep working until they do.
  6. 6
Cleanup and the written guarantee. The site is left the way we found it, minus the leaks. Every Guardsman job carries our 365-Day Done Right Promise in writing. If a sealed joint fails within a year, we return and fix it at no charge. That includes the second visit, not just the part.

What Guardsman Duct Sealing Costs in Henderson

Here’s what Guardsman owners in Henderson should expect, based on what we’ve seen across Green Valley, Anthem, Whitney Ranch, and McDonald Highlands:

Scenario Typical Range
Single accessible joint or gasket replacement $150 – $300
Seal Guardsman cabinet seams and filter door gasket $250 – $450
Full supply and return sealing for a 1,500 – 2,500 sq ft home $450 – $900
Full sealing plus transition collar re-seat and flex repair $700 – $1,200

What moves the price: accessibility (attic vs. crawlspace), how many joints are actually leaking, and whether any Guardsman-specific parts need replacing. We give you a written price before work starts, and that price stands. Call (775) 383-5847 for a free estimate on your Guardsman system.

Why Henderson Homeowners Call Hollis Air Duct Henderson for Guardsman Work

We’ve been in business since 2004, so we’ve been inside Guardsman systems long enough to know which ones hold up and which ones leak from the factory. Every Guardsman job gets a background-checked, uniformed technician who knows the equipment, not a trainee learning on your dime. And because we also service Lennox, Trane, and Carrier systems, we understand how your Guardsman component interacts with whatever your main system happens to be. That matters when the leak isn’t in the Guardsman cabinet at all, but in the transition between two brands. The Garrison Code applies on every job: arrive inside the quoted window, price it in writing, finish the work by the book, and leave the site clean. If you can’t explain what you’re doing and why, you probably shouldn’t be doing it. We can, and that’s why we stand behind every job for a full year.
