Aprilaire Air Duct Cleaning in Henderson: What to Know First
We clean air ducts for Aprilaire whole-home systems across Henderson, including homes in Green Valley, Anthem, Seven Hills, and the newer subdivisions along Horizon Ridge. A complete Aprilaire duct cleaning on a typical 2,000 to 3,000 square foot Henderson home runs between $450 and $850, depending on how many returns the system has and how long it’s been since the last cleaning. We’re an independent Aprilaire service provider, not a factory-authorized shop, and we give you the written price before any equipment comes off the truck.
This page is for Henderson homeowners who own an Aprilaire air cleaner, humidifier, or whole-home ventilation setup and want to know what duct cleaning should actually cost, what gets done, and how to avoid paying for work that doesn’t happen. If you want a straight answer on your system, call us at (775) 383-5847 and we’ll walk you through what we’d check first.
How Aprilaire Products Fail – and How We Fix Them
- Aprilaire 5000 electronic air cleaners load up on the media side, not the cell side. In Henderson, the fine dust from desert landscaping and construction traffic hits the media cartridge first. When that cartridge goes too long between changes, the blower pulls harder and the ductwork upstream collects a heavier layer of dust than the filter was ever meant to handle. We see this most often in Green Valley Ranch homes with the original 5000 installed in the return plenum. Our fix starts with a video inspection to map where the buildup is concentrated, then negative-air cleaning to pull the loose particulate out without driving it deeper into the runs.
- Aprilaire 700-series humidifiers create a damp bypass duct that grows mold in the summer. The 700 uses a water panel in the bypass plenum. Henderson summers run hot but the monsoon season can spike indoor humidity, and that bypass section stays damp longer than the rest of the system. Homeowners near Lake Las Vegas report this more than others. We clean that bypass run as part of the full system service, and we check the water feed to make sure the panel isn’t over-saturating during the off months. If the panel itself is crusted, we recommend replacing it rather than cleaning around it.
- Aprilaire 213 and 413 filters hide what’s happening behind them. These high-MERV media filters do a good job trapping sub-micron particles, but they create higher static pressure than a standard 1-inch filter. On older Henderson homes off Sunset Road with the original flexible duct runs, that extra pressure can collapse or kink a sagging flex run. When we clean a system with a 213 or 413, we measure static before and after. If the numbers suggest the filter is choking the system, we’ll tell you before we ever put a brush in the ductwork.
- Aprilaire 8100 Energy Recovery Ventilators bring in dust from outside and distribute it through the supply side. The 8100’s core exchanges air with the outside, and in a place like Henderson, that incoming air carries desert dust. If the intake screen or the core itself is dirty, the fresh air coming into the house isn’t actually fresh. We clean the supply ducts downstream of the ERV as part of the job, and we’ll flag the ERV core condition so you know whether it needs service separately.
- Whole-home dehumidifier tie-ins (Aprilaire 1700 series) collect condensation in the duct near the unit. On systems where the 1700 is mounted on the return side, the duct just downstream of the dehumidifier can hold moisture that attracts fiberglass lining debris. We commonly see this on two-story homes in Anthem where the dehumidifier sits in the attic. Cleaning that section requires opening the run and using a HEPA-filtered negative-air machine, not just a brush and a shop vac.

Our Aprilaire Air Duct Cleaning Process
Every Aprilaire job follows the same sequence, and we tell you what we’re doing at each step. Roy Castellanos runs the inspection himself before any cleaning starts, because a blower pushing dirty air through a system that hasn’t been mapped first is just moving the problem around.
- 1
Inspection and static pressure reading. We locate every return, every supply register, and the Aprilaire components in the system. We measure static pressure to understand how the filter and any accessories are affecting airflow before we touch anything.
- 2
Video inspection of the main trunk and problem runs. We run a camera through the plenum and the major supply and return lines. This gives us a record of what’s actually in there and lets us show you before we quote.
- 3
Written price for the full system. One flat price per system, written down before work starts. It does not move at the door. If we find something that changes the scope, we stop and tell you first.
- 4
Negative-air cleaning with agitation. We seal the system and run a Nikro or Rotobrush negative-air machine to pull the dust out while agitating the runs. This is the same method commercial crews use, and we’ll explain what it’s doing for your specific system as we go.
- 5
Filter check and Aprilaire accessory review. We check the condition of your media cartridge, humidifier panel, or ERV core and tell you what we’d replace and what can wait. We don’t invent replacements just to add line items.
- 6
Final walkthrough and written guarantee. We walk you through what we did, show you the before-and-after from the camera footage, and leave you with the 365-Day Done Right Promise in writing.

AfterWhat Aprilaire Air Duct Cleaning Costs in Henderson
Whole-home Aprilaire duct cleaning in Henderson runs $450 to $850 for most houses. That covers all supply lines, returns, the main trunk, and the plenums. A single-system ranch home in Green Valley typically lands around $450 to $600, while a two-story home in Anthem or Seven Hills with multiple returns and a second zone runs $650 to $850. If the system has an Aprilaire humidifier bypass, ERV tie-in, or dehumidifier connection, those add $75 to $150 each depending on access and buildup.
What moves the price: how many returns the system has, whether the original flex ducts are degraded, and how much dust has accumulated on the blower wheel itself. Blower cleaning is included in the full system price; it’s not an add-on. Call (775) 383-5847 for a free estimate, and we’ll give you the written number before any work starts.
Why Henderson Homeowners Call Hollis Air Duct Henderson for Aprilaire Work
We’ve been at this since 2004, and the things that earn a callback in Henderson are concrete: we show up inside the window, the price is written down before the equipment rolls, and the job gets done by the book. Our techs know Aprilaire systems well enough to recognize when a duct problem is actually a filter problem or a humidifier problem. We don’t mask that by just cleaning around it.
Every job is covered by the 365-Day Done Right Promise. If the work fails within a year, we come back and make it right at no charge, including a free second visit. We also service systems built around Lennox, Trane, and Carrier, so when the Aprilaire accessory is tied into a bigger ecosystem, we understand the whole layout, not just one piece of it. You’ll know who’s walking into your home before they arrive: background-checked, uniformed, and working under The Garrison Code.
Frequently Asked Questions
No. Duct cleaning, when done properly, does not void an Aprilaire product warranty. What voids warranties is damage from improper tools or unqualified work. We use negative-air equipment sized for residential systems and we don’t force brushes into components that weren’t designed for that. We also photograph the system before and after so there’s a record of how it looked when we arrived and how it looked when we left.
You should see the video. We run a camera through the trunk line and major runs before we start, and we show you the same footage after. If a company won’t show you before-and-after camera footage of your own ductwork, walk away. On every Hollis Air Duct Henderson job, the video inspection is part of the service, not an upsell.
We inspect them and tell you what they need, but we don’t bundle replacements into the cleaning price without telling you first. If your Aprilaire 213 or 413 media cartridge is spent, we’ll show it to you and quote a replacement separately. That way the cleaning price is the cleaning price, and nothing gets rolled in quietly.
In Henderson’s dust load, every 3 to 5 years is realistic for most homes. Homes with the Aprilaire 5000 electronic air cleaner and multiple pets may need it closer to every 3. Homes with a 213 or 413 high-MERV filter and clean habits can often go 5 before buildup matters. We’ll tell you what we see in the video and let you decide based on that, not a schedule we invented.
We can, but we rarely recommend it. Cleaning only one side leaves the other side as a reservoir that re-contaminates the clean lines within weeks. If cost is the concern, we’ll talk through what’s actually needed and give you a number for the full system and a number for the partial, and let you decide with the facts in front of you. Call (775) 383-5847 and we’ll walk you through it.
